The Great Glen Way (GGW) covers 73 miles from Fort William to Inverness. With an additional mile on the end, one can travel coast-to-coast on this trail. The GGW passes Britain's highest mountain, follows its greatest geological fault along the shores of the famous Loch Ness, and terminates at Inverness (capital of the Highlands). The majority of the walk travels along the Caledonian Canal, a superb feature of victorian engineering in Scotland.
